WESTFIELD, NJ — Westfield Police Chief David Wayman said Friday that the department will close part of East Broad Street and part of Gallows Hill Road on Monday, Aug. 3, for the burial of Bobbi Kristina Brown. Brown, the 22-year-old daughter of Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown, will be laid to rest with her mother at Fairview Cemetery.

East Broad Street will close Monday from Wychwood Road to Springfield Avenue at or about 10 a.m., according to Wayman. Gallows Hill Road will close from East Broad Street to the Cranford border. Roads will open at the police department’s discretion. Wayman said he anticipates that they will reopen by rush hour.

No parking will be allowed on these portions of the roads from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Wayman thanked the public in advance for their cooperation. Police will allow residents to access their homes and will do their very best to minimize any inconvenience these road closures may cause, he said.
