SOUTH ORANGE AND MAPLEWOOD, NJ - The first day of spring is just a week away, but winter is not going out quietly.  

The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm watch beginning 12 a.m. Tuesday through 12 a.m. Wednesday. There is potential for snowfall of 12 to 18 inches or higher in Central and Northern New Jersey.  

Snow is expected to arrive in South Orange and Maplewood late Monday night and continue falling through Tuesday evening.

The National Weather Service also predicts 10-20 mph winds with gusts of 30 to 40 mph, and the potential for power outages.
