Spirit Awards, the highest non-academic honor a student at Saint Peter’s Prep can receive, were recently presented to five students, continuing a 33-year Prep tradition of recognizing the unsung heroes of the school community.

The first Prep Spirit Awards were presented in November 1981 when the late Fr. John Browning, S.J. ’46, then principal of Saint Peter’s, began this tradition.

Among the five is Maplewood resident Declan Wollard, '15, son of Caron and Joe Wollard.  Declan was cited for his kindness to all, his intellectual rigor, and his involvement in all aspects of student life.  A Sheehan Scholar (full scholar), he is involved in admissions work and is also a member of the Cross Country and Outdoor Track teams and the captain of the Indoor Track team.
