SHORT HILLS, NJ - The driver of a Toyota Rav 4 was trapped in her overturned vehicle after colliding with another SUV on the 800 block of Morris Turnpike between Walgreen’s and Tide Cleaners on the Short Hills and Summit town line. The accident occurred at approximately 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 19.
The accident occurred when the driver of a Ford Escape was waiting to cross Morris Turnpike onto the eastbound Rte. 24 onramp and collided with the oncoming Rav 4.
“A witness stated that the green vehicle [Ford Escape] slowed and somewhat yielded at the stop sign.” Millburn Police Officer Michael Lanni told TAP. “Based on the damage, it almost paints a perfect picture [of what may have actually happened].”
In addition to Millburn police and fire, Springfield firefighters were at the scene to assist.
The driver of the black Toyota Rav 4 is described as a Caucasian female, approximately 67 years of age. She was transported to University Hospital in Newark due to injuries to her shoulder.
