September 28, 2020; Armed Robbery; At approximately 10:40 p.m. four males committed a robbery of the 66 Gas Station on Springfield Ave while armed with a rifle. Cash was taken, but no one was injured during the robbery.

September 29, 2020; Attempted Vehicle Theft; At approximately 8:30 p.m., a male later identified as 29 year old Nelson Torres of Brooklyn, NY attempt to steal a vehicle from a parking lot on Millburn Ave.  He was able to be removed from the vehicle by its owner and two Sheriff's officers who were working at a nearby road construction site. He was taken into custody and charged with the attempted theft.

October 4, 2020; Auto Theft; During the overnight hours, an unsecured vehicle with the keys left in it was stolen from Walton Rd.

The Maplewood Police Department works hard to protect the residents and their property.  We are asking that you assist us in this effort by making sure all vehicles and homes are properly secured at all times. All charges are merely accusations. Each suspect is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
