On October 21, 2020 Detectives from South Orange Police Department located a stolen Volvo that was taken from a residence on Centre Street on October 20th. The vehicle was parked on Stratford Place in Newark.  

After a brief surveillance, Detectives observed an individual enter the driver's door. Before the subject was able to start the stolen Volvo, Jamari Hall, a 23-year-old Newark resident, was taken into custody without incident. Hall was transported to SOPD where he was processed accordingly. While at SOPD, Hall confessed to stealing the Volvo as well as burglarizing numerous cars in the driveway on two different dates. Hall was charged with Auto theft, five counts of Burglary to Auto, and Criminal Trespassing. Hall was also found to be wanted out of the Middlesex County Sheriff's and Essex County Sheriff's Offices. He was transported to the Essex County Jail.
