Adult Arrest - Shoplifting - Henry Vance, a 31 year old Dover resident was arrested on Monday, September 25, at approximately 1:51 p.m. for shoplifting. Security officials at the Stop & Shop on Valley St. observed a subject place several items into a backpack and then leave the store without paying for them. Security officials notified SOPD and officers stopped a subject (Vance), who matched the description provided by security on Sloan Street. After further investigation at the scene, officers determined that Vance was the subject involved in the shoplifting and officers recovered the stolen merchandise. Officers arrested Vance without incident and transported him to headquarters where a records check revealed an outstanding arrest warrant out of Rockaway Township. Vance was processed accordingly.
Adult Arrest - CDS - Hadrian Matthews, a 26 year old East Orange resident was arrested on Friday, September 29, at approximately 12:05 p.m. for possession of CDS (marijuana). Officers stopped a suspicious vehicle near the intersection of Vose Ave. and Taylor Place and after further investigation at the scene, officers determined that the driver of the vehicle (Matthews) was in possession of the CDS. A records check also revealed an active arrest warrant for Matthews out of Union. The vehicle's passenger, Brandon Gamble, a 28 year old Orange resident was also arrested after a records check revealed several outstanding arrest warrants out of Orange and Newark. Officers transported both subjects to headquarters, where they were processed accordingly.
Adult Arrest - CDS - Marques Bragg, a 47 year old Orange resident was arrested on Tuesday, October 3, at approximately 10:56 a.m. for possession of CDS (marijuana). Officers stopped Bragg, who was driving a 2013 Nissa for a motor vehicle violation on Fairview Ave. After further investigation at the scene, officers determined that the Bragg was in possession of the marijuana. Officer arrested Bragg without further incident and transported him to headquarters for processing.
Warrant Arrest - Alysha Murray, a 30 year old Newark resident was arrested on Sunday, October 1, at approximately 12:45 p.m. for several outstanding warrants out of multiple jurisdictions. One of the store owners on Irvington Ave. alerted officers to a suspicious female, whom he believed to be a shoplifter from a prior incident. Officers stopped the subject (Murray) and after further investigation, a records check revealed the multiple warrants. Officers arrested Murray without incident and transported her to headquarters where she was processed accordingly.
Warrant Arrest - Junior Burke, a 59 year old Newark resident was arrested on Tuesday, October 3, at approximately 2 p.m. for an outstanding warrant out of East Orange. While on routine patrol, an officer driving a police unit with an Automatic License Plate Reader was alerted that the registered owner (Burke) of a 2005 Chevy the officer was driving behind had an active arrest warrant and a suspended driver's license. Officers conducted a motor vehicle stop at South Orange Ave and Academy Street and after further investigation at the scene, determined the driver of the vehicle (Burke) was the registered owner. Officers arrested Burke for the outstanding warrant and transported him to headquarters for processing.
Warrant Arrest - David Boone, a 20 year old Newark resident was arrested on Wednesday, September 27, at approximately 4:45 p.m. for an outstanding arrest warrant out of the Essex County Sheriff's Dept. Officers, who are familiar with Boone, stopped him on the South Orange Train Station platform to confirm a suspected warrant. A record's check revealed the active arrest warrant and officers arrested Boone without further incident. Officers transported Boone to headquarters where he was processed accordingly.
Warrant Arrest - Edward Promise, a 44 year old South Orange resident was arrested on Thursday, September 28, at approximately 3:30 a.m. for an outstanding warrant out of Maplewood. Officers stopped Promise who was riding a bicycle on Irvington Ave for Village Ordinance violations. During the stop, a records check revealed the active arrest warrant out of Maplewood. Officers arrested Promise without further incident and transported him to headquarters, where he was processed accordingly.
