South Orange Police Blotter as of May 9
Adult Arrest - DWI - William Hendricks, a 55 year old Union resident, was arrested on Friday, May 5, at approximately 11:58 p.m. for DWI. Officers observed a vehicle (2010 Acura) with a flat tire driving along South Orange Ave. near Ward Pl. Officers conducted a motor vehicle stop to investigate and during the stop, officers determined that the driver (Hendricks) was DWI. Officer arrested Hendricks and transported him to headquarters where he was processed accordingly.
Adult Arrest - DWI - Karim Moniem, a 43 year old Maplewood resident, was arrested on Sunday, May 7, at approximately 4:09 p.m. for DWI. Officers responded to a call for a motorist in distress in the area of Wyoming Ave. and Franklin Pl. and stopped the vehicle in question (2014 Audi). After further investigation at the scene, officers determined that the driver (Moniem) was DWI and he was subsequently arrested. Officers transported Moniem to headquarters where he was processed accordingly.
Burglary to Auto - A Church St. resident reported that between 11 p.m., May 2, and 6:40 a.m., May 3, actor(s) unknown entered his vehicle (2006 Jeep) and removed some loose change. It appears the actor(s) gained entry by unzipping the back window of the Jeep's soft top.
Burglary - A Scotland Rd. resident reported that between 10:30 p.m., Monday, May 1, and 7 a.m., Tuesday, May 2, actor(s) unknown entered his garage and removed a chainsaw, which was later found at the end of his driveway. The Detective Bureau is investigating.
