South Orange Police Blotter as of January 8
Auto Theft - A West End Rd resident reported that sometime between 12:30 a.m. and 8:30 a.m., Thursday, Dec. 28, actor(s) unknown stole his vehicle (2013 Honda), which was parked in his driveway at the time.
Auto Theft - A Montclair resident and South Orange business owner reported that on Tuesday, Jan. 2, at approximately 6:20 p.m., actor(s) unknown stole his vehicle (2014 Lexus) while it was parked in the front lot of his business on Valley St.
Criminal Mischief - A Macungie, PA resident reported that sometime between 10 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 31, and noon, Monday, Jan. 1, actor(s) unknown smashed the rear window of his vehicle with a champagne bottle. The vehicle was parked on College Pl. when the incident occurred.
Adult Arrest - DWI - Dmitri Figdor, an 18 year old Maplewood resident, was arrested on Sunday, Dec. 31, at approximately 4:40 p.m. for DWI and CDS (marijuana). Officers stopped a gold-colored Ford Freestyle for a motor vehicle violation on Wyoming Ave and Forest Drive. After further investigation during the traffic stop, officers determined that the driver (Figdor) was DWI and was in possession of marijuana. Officers arrested Figdor without incident and transported him to headquarters where he was processed and charged accordingly.
Warrant Arrest - Marvin Mixson, a 35 year old Newark resident was arrested on Wednesday, Dec. 23, at approximately 7:45 p.m., on an outstanding arrest warrant for burglary out of South Orange. Detectives responded to the Essex County Probation Office, where probation officers had Mixson detained and in their custody on the outstanding arrest warrant. Detectives arrested Mixson and transported him to headquarters, where Mixson provided a statement to detectives in regards to his involvement for a burglary that occurred on Dec. 23 as well as other incidents. Detectives charged Mixson accordingly.
Warrant Arrest - Michael Spence, a 28 year old Union resident was arrested on Wednesday, Jan. 3, at 5:50 p.m. for outstanding arrest warrants out of Irvington, Clifton, and Newark. Officers stopped a blue Honda for a motor vehicle violation on Park Pl. During the traffic stop a records check revealed the active arrest warrants for Spence, who was operating the vehicle. Officers arrested Spence without incident and transported him to headquarters where he was processed accordingly.
