Author Renée Watson will speak at the South Orange Public Library via Zoom on Tuesday, January 26, at 7 p.m.
Renée is a New York Times bestselling author, educator and activist. Her young adult novel, Piecing Me Together,(Bloomsbury, 2017) received a Coretta Scott King Award and Newbery Honor. Her latest book, Love Is a Revolution, will be published in February. The New York Times calls Renée’s writing, “charming and evocative.” Her poetry and fiction often centers around the experiences of Black girls and women, and explores themes of home, identity, and the intersections of race, class, and gender.
Students in grades 6-12 are encouraged to attend. Educators and parents are welcome.
