Lenore Raphael Presents Great American Songbook to Millburn Library

Internationally renowned jazz pianist and Steinway artist Lenore Raphael brings her stellar trio to the Millburn Free Public Library on Sunday, December 8, 2019 at 2:00pm. Former Millburn/Short Hills resident Raphael  will celebrate the Great American Songbook, with songs by Cole Porter, The Gershwins, Rogers & Hart, etc. Ms. Raphael’s trio also includes superb bassist Paul Beaudry and renowned drummer Dwayne “Cook” Broadnax.

Lenore Raphael has performed and sold out major jazz clubs and festivals, including Dizzy's at Jazz At Lincoln Center, The Blue Note, Birdland, The London Jazz Festival, The Tel Aviv Jazz festival, Ottawa International Jazz Festival, Ronnie Scott's in London, The S.S. Oosterdam jazz cruise, and many more. She was one of three featured internationally renowned Steinway pianists including Ahmad Jamal and Abdullah Ibraham, at the Joy Of Jazz festival in Johannesburg, South Africa. Lenore also performed to sold out audiences in April 2014 at the Casa Da Musica in Porto Portugal and at The Broward Center for the Arts Amaturo theater in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. She has toured in England and Europe and Israel. In 2016 she did a major tour in South Africa and is always invited to return to venues where she performs.

Paul Beaudry has toured worldwide as a sideman with Steve Turre, Wycliffe Gordon, Allan Harris, Charenee Wade, Dee Daniels, Wynard Harper and Eric Lewis. He has also performed in concerts or on recordings with such jazz greats as Clark Terry, Grady Tate, Jimmy Cobb, Charlie Persip, Frank Wess, Cecil Bridgewater, Billy Harper, Eddie Henderson, Roy Hargrove, Johnny O’Neal, Cynthia Scott, Bruce Barth and Dave Valentine.

Dwayne (Cook) Broadnax, born in Philadelphia, graduated n three short years at Berklee College of Music, in Boston. He then returned to Berklee as one of their youngest faculty members. After moving to New York City in 1983, he toured with legendary organist, Bill Dogget. He then joined Grammy award winning blues artist, Johnny Copeland with whom he performed and recorded. Cook has also been a major force on several tours with Jimmy Scott and The Jazz Expressions.
