Rocky Marciano, Jr. Unveils Rocky Marciano Wine at Par 440

A Champion’s Commitment. The Taste of Excellence.

The wine will be unveiled at an invitation only event at PAR 440 Restaurant and Lounge in Short Hills, NJ, attended by Rocky Marciano, Jr.

PAR 440 is the perfect venue for hosting the unveiling of the wine. The restaurant built by Mario LaVecchia, is decidedly modern with old school charm, and features amazing Italian cuisine.

Mario LaVecchia commented, "it’s a great wine – smooth, unpretentious, the same way that Rocky was.” The event is scheduled from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., with a charge of $49+tax and gratuity. Included are hors d’oeuvres and a limited number of signed bottles of wine. Reservations are requested.

The wine was created in partnership with Cantina Ripa Teatina  a winery in Abruzzo, Italy.  “As an undefeated world champion, my father was committed to excellence. Coming together with the Cantina Ripa Teatina to create a wine to honor this commitment has been an amazing experience and I am very proud of this wine,” Marciano Jr. concludes.

Describing the partnership, Marciano Jr. says, “I first visited Ripa Teatina for the annual Premio Rocky Marciano festival which honors excellence in many fields. I felt completely at home in this hill-top town where my grandfather was born.”

“Many of my father’s traditions originated here– from turning his grandfathers’ wine press as a youth to enjoying the weekly food and wine gatherings with family on Saturday nights. Wine was an integral part of his life.”

The Rocky Marciano Montepulciano d’ Abruzzo has a deep ruby red color. It has complex sensations of vanilla, spices and licorice, chocolate and intense ripe red fruits. It is a wide wine, very rich and harmonic.  It is very well balanced with a persistent finish and good structure. The grapes, grown on Abruzzian trellis, were hand selected and hand picked from vineyards between 130 – 300m above sea level.
