MAPLEWOOD AND SOUTH ORANGE, NJ - Halloween celebrations and trick-or-treaters could be found in every SOMA neighborhood on Wednesday night, in addition to community events in Maplewood and South Orange.

Crowds came out for the annual Maplewood Halloween Parade to take part in the costume contest and to trick-or-treat at the merchants. The Maplewood Lions Club were back for the second year with the Teal Pumpkin project, which provided alternatives to candy for those who have food allergies.

In South Orange's Founders Park, the classic film Beetlejuice was shown, the first Halloween movie night in what the Founder's Park Conservancy hopes will be an annual event.
