Late Summer Fun at the Maplewood Pool: Float Night, Dive-In Movie Night and More

MAPLEWOOD, NJ - The Maplewood Pool has several events planned for end of summer fun.

On Wednesday, August 16, there will be "Music by the Pool" featuring the David Easton Band from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

On Friday, August 18, the pool will host it's first ever "Float Night" from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., and everyone is invited to bring their own floats for use in the main pool, according to an update from pool management. DJ Jimmy will be playing music.

On Saturday, August 26, a Dive-in Movie will be held from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. The event includes poolside activities prior to starting the feature presentation around 9 p.m., according to pool management. This will be a free event with food available for purchase. Rain date is Sunday, August 27.

On Saturday, September 9, there will be a Dog Days of Summer event from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. According to  organizers "this event is for dogs to swim in the pool, not for people. Dogs must be on leash from the parking lot into the pool area. Please do not bring toys that your dog is possessive over, however, you may bring balls, Frisbees or other toys that they won’t mind sharing. This event is for dogs to swim in the pool, not for people. Please do not bring your children with the idea that they will be able to go swimming...they will be disappointed! Dogs should be friendly and socialize well with other dogs and humans. No fighters or biters. All dogs must be licensed and wearing their tag. Dogs showing signs of aggression will be asked to leave. One handler can only bring a maximum of two dogs."

Additional updates:

  • Commuter Swim will be extended through Friday, September 1.
  • As the summer is coming to a close, the pool will begin to close early due to early darkness. Check sunset times for closing times.
