MAPLEWOOD, NJ -- The Maplewood Community Pool is scheduled to open this Saturday, May 26, and be open Saturday, Sunday, and Monday (Memorial Day) from noon to 6 p.m., according to an update from the Maplewood Recreation Department.
For those who wish to join the pool, registration can be done in person at the Recreation Department (574 Valley St.) on weekdays from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. A special "late night" registration will be available on Thursday, May 24, when the Recreation Department will be open until 8 p.m.
"We encourage everyone to come to Town Hall for registration, so over the busy weekend you can just scan in and enjoy your day. The lines will be much shorter and expedited in Town Hall pre-weekend," stated an update from the Recreation Department.

This year, pool memberships are being offered to a limited number of non-residents, according to an update on the Maplewood Pool website.
"We heard requests for out-of-town family members or former residents who return to the area for extended periods in the summer to be able to join the pool and we'd like to accommodate that," as well as allowing "residents of neighboring towns to take advantage of our pool," read the website update, which also stated that the non-resident memberships would serve "as a source for additional revenue to cover the pool's operating costs and anticipated future capital repair needs."
The concession stand at the pool will be operated by Freeman's Fish Market, according to an update on the Freeman's Facebook page which read, "we are beyond excited to back at the Maplewood Pool it’s going to be a great season."
