SOUTH ORANGE, NJ — Every year homeowners look forward to purging during spring cleaning. This year, South Orange Container Day is Saturday, April 10. A second Container Day will be May 8. 

South Orange residents may drop off large bulk household items during this event at Public Works, 300 Walton Ave. Exclusions: electronics, hazardous waste, and construction material Commercial vehicles are not permitted to enter the facility (no U-Hauls, Home Depot vehicles etc.) The event runs from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

This year, to make the process safer during the pandemic, appointments are required and may be made here.
