Troop 60 South Orange and Maplewood has a Scouts BSA Troop Meetings and Open Houses on Thursdays at 7:30 p.m. at the Clinton School, 27 Berkshire Road, Maplewood.
Here is some general information about the troop.
Troop 60 is a year-round troop, for youth in grades 6 and up (ages 11 and up). Each youth in the Troop belongs to a patrol, which includes scouts of various ages and allows them to build leadership skills with their peers.
Between September and June, the troop generally meets weekly and in almost all months there is also a camp out or other outdoor activity (cabin camping in some of winter).
The troop's designated meeting location is Clinton School Gym.
All activities in scouting are optional, understanding youth have many opportunities available to them, and we try to offer things that are fun, interesting and have some combination of service, outdoors, fitness or education.
Scouts are youth led with support from adults. We are supported entirely by parent volunteers and everyone helps to make things happen.
Let the troop know if you have any other questions. You may contact the troop through its Facebook page. The troops welcomes new families to come as a guest to the open house and troop meetings.
