There's a local hero at the JESPY House.
Longtime JESPY client and South Orange resident Jane Ellyn Clark is a 2019 Special Olympics World Games medal winner.
Clark performed well locally and at the Special Olympics USA Games in Seattle, Wash., as a bowler in recent years.
But Clark recently won several medals during the Games in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, which were held from March 14 through 21.
Clark's impressive talents earned her a Silver medal in doubles; a bronze in team; and a 4th Place in singles. As a participant in the Games, she joined more than 7,000 other athletes from 170 countries who competed in 24 summer sports.
Traveling to Abu Dhabi was Clark's first time abroad and she made the journey well worth the trip.
The JESPY House serves 250 adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities ranging in age from 18 to 70. To learn more, visit www.jespy.org.
