MAPLEWOOD, NJ — At yesterday’s 2020 reorganization meeting, the South Orange Maplewood Board of Education installed three new members yet had one seat open up during the evening.
Thair Joshua of South Orange and Erin Siders of Maplewood were installed into their first terms on the board; Johanna Wright is beginning her third term.
Annemarie Maini remains as board president; Shannon Cuttle is first vice president and Siders is second vice president.
The board remains one member short, however, because during the meeting, first-term board member Javier Farfan resigned his seat, citing lack of time to devote to board responsibilities.
Also during the meeting, TAPinto SOMA was named an official electronic news media outlet for legal advertisements and the publication of BOE meetings.
The next regular meeting of the BOE will be Jan. 27 at 7:30 p.m. Here is the full schedule of BOE meetings for the remainder of the school year.
