SOUTH ORANGE, NJ – Thursday evening, Jan. 17, current South Orange Trustee Deborah Davis Ford took center stage at Bunny’s following an introduction from her daughter, Rachel Ford. The room was filled with supporters, locals, family and elected officials from the state level.
“I’m running now, because this is the right time for me," said Ford. She also touched on some of the major issues and opportunities facing the Village such as development, the proposed merger of the South Orange and Maplewood fire departments and keeping South Orange a welcoming community where truly “everyone belongs."
Ford stated that in the coming few weeks she will introduce her slate of three people who will be standing for election to the Board of Trustees (BOT).
The South Orange municipal election is on May 14, and will be for Village President as well as for three members of the South Orange Board of Trustees.
Mark Rosner has announced he will not run and is retiring from the BOT.
