MAPLEWOOD, N.J. - The primary election results are in and incumbent Frank McGehee will be the democratic candidate on the ballot this November for a three-year seat on the Maplewood Township Committee.
McGehee ran unopposed for the seat in the primary election, and will be running unopposed in the General Election in November.
Results from the Essex County Clerk's Office show that McGehee received 1,024 votes in Tuesday's primary election. There were six write-in votes for the township committee seat, according to the results.
A total of 1,191 out of 19,864 registered voters in Maplewood voted in the primary.
McGehee has been serving on the Maplewood Township Committee since January 2017. Issues McGehee will focus on if he's re-elected include shared services, police and community relations, pedestrian safety and economic growth.
