UPPER MONTCLAIR, NJ — A pedestrian survived after being struck by a New Jersey Transit train on Wednesday, officials confirm.
A man was seriously injured, but is expected to survive, after he was hit by the oncoming train near the Bellevue Avenue Station in Upper Montclair. Sometime around 4:35 p.m., officials reported a trespasser strike.
According to NJ Transit spokesman Paul Milo, nearly 15 passengers and crew were aboard the train and there were no other reported injuries. Service along the Montclair-Boonton Line was temporarily suspended between Bay Street and Montclair State University, while authorities investigated.
