ORANGE, NJ — On Jan. 8, Police in Orange responded to a 911 phone call from a neighbor reporting hearing shots fired on the 300 block of Lawn Ridge Road.  

Police say a father and son were questioned on the block around 4:30 p.m. It was confirmed that the father exited the house from the back door and fired a shotgun and a handgun in the air.

According to police, the residents gave permission for the residence to be searched. In the home were five guns varying from rifles to handguns, all registered to the father.

Officers confiscated all the weapons from the home then held the father and son for an investigation.

The pair were released after being questioned.
