ESSEX COUNTY, NJ - Seven candidates, including two incumbents, filed today to run for three seats on the South Orange Maplewood Board of Education.
Incumbents Stephanie Lawson-Muhammad and Johanna Wright are seeking re-election in this November's school board election, according to the Essex County Clerk's Office. Non-incumbents Sharon Tanenbaum Kraus, Carey Smith, Narda Chisholm Greene, Erin Siders and Thair Joshua are running for seats on the board.
The three seats are for two-year terms on the board.
Current board member Susie Adamson is not seeking re-election.
The deadline to file a petition with the Essex County Clerk's Office to run for the school board was July 29.
