MAPLEWOOD, NJ — The following is an update from the Department of Community Development regarding permit applications, fees, and inspections:

The Township’s Department of Community Development is continuing to serve the public during this challenging time. Although Town Hall is closed to the public, the Construction, Property Maintenance and Zoning Divisions are fully operational except as noted below. 

The Construction Division is open and operating. The division is continuing all exterior inspections whether the property is occupied or not; all interior inspections in unoccupied properties; all interior inspections where the project area is segregated from the occupied portions of properties (e.g., an addition that is sealed off).

The Township is processing all applications for Certificate of Continued Use (CCU) in property transfers, whether the property is occupied or not.

Maplewood Township’s Property Maintenance Division is all open and operating, although no interior inspections are being done.

Zoning reviews are also being scheduled and available by appointment only.
