TRENTON, NJ – A Maplewood convenience store sold a winning lottery ticket for the Jersey Cash 5 drawing on Tuesday.
Maple Chek on Springfield Avenue was one of two stores in New Jersey that sold a ticket in the Jersey Cash 5 jackpot that matched all five of the winning numbers in the Aug. 6 drawing, NJ Lottery Acting Executive Director James Carey said in a press release. The other store was an Acme in Milltown.
The jackpot was $100,000. Each ticket is worth $50,000. The winning numbers were 2, 9, 16, 27 and 33 and the XTRA number was 2.
“We are thrilled that the winning jackpot tickets were sold at Maple Chek and Acme. The retailers will receive a bonus check for $2,000 for each winning ticket sold. Overnight, they have become two more ‘lucky locations’ for the very fortunate lottery winners,” Carey said.
The drawing on Tuesday isn't the first time a winning Jersey Cash 5 ticket was sold in SOMA.
In May, a 7-Eleven convenience store on Valley Street in South Orange sold a winning Jersey Cash 5 ticket.
The winning prize in the May drawing was $353,354
