REMOVAL OF UNDERGROUND (FUEL) STORAGE TANKS (USTs) AND FUEL STATION DEMOLITION AT THE MAPLEWOOD TOWNSHIP DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS (DPW) FACILITY

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN THAT SEALED BIDS WILL BE RECEIVED BY THE TOWNSHIP OF MAPLEWOOD IN THE COUNTY OF ESSEX, NEW JERSEY FOR THE REMOVAL OF UNDERGROUND (FUEL) STORAGE TANKS (USTs) AND FUEL STATION DEMOLITION AT THE MAPLEWOOD TOWNSHIP DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS (DPW) FACILITY. THE PROJECT CONSISTS OF UST SYSTEM REMOVAL AND DISPOSAL, SOIL REMOVAL AND DISPOSAL, UST EXCAVATION DEWATERING, FUEL STATION DEMOLITION AND DISPOSAL, CONCRETE AND BUILDING DEMOLITION AND DISPOSAL, WITH ASBESTOS ABATEMENT AND UNIVERSAL WASTE DISPOSAL, RE-ROUTING OF ELECTRICAL SERVICE, UST EXCAVATION BACKFILLING AND COMPACTION, RE-PAVEMENT, SITE RESTORATION AND RELATED ACTIVITIES.

Specifications and form of bid, contract, and bond for the proposed work prepared by the TOWNSHIP OF MAPLEWOOD Engineering Department are on file in the office of the Engineer at 574 Valley Street in Maplewood, NJ 07040 and may be inspected by prospective bidders during the hours of 10:00 am until 2:45 pm weekdays. The Contract Documents will be available to bidders in digital format on a CD. There will be no charge for the Contract Documents. Prospective bidders will be required to provide a business card or typed document with their name, address, telephone number, fax number and email address to be used if addenda are required.

Bids will be received at the office of the Township Engineer at 574 Valley Street, Maplewood, NJ 07040 until: April 15, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. prevailing time, the Bid Due Date

A pre-bid walk will be conducted at the project site, the Maplewood DPW Facility, at 359 Boyden Avenue, Maplewood, NJ, at 11 a.m. prevailing time, on April 1, 2020. Due to the complexity of the project work, attendance by prospective bidders at this pre-bid walk is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Bids will be made on standard proposal forms in the manner designated therein as required by the specifications, and must be enclosed in envelopes (outer and inner), both of which shall be sealed and clearly labeled with the words CONTRACT BID DOCUMENTS, name of project, name and address of Bidder and date and time of bid opening, and addressed to Township Engineer at 574 Valley Street, Maplewood, NJ 07040.

Bidders are required to comply with the requirements of N.J.S.A. 10:5-31 et seq. and N.J.A.C. 17:27

All Bidders must submit to the Township a Business Registration Certificate issued by the New Jersey Division of Revenue, PL 2004 c.57 (N.J.S.A. 52:32-44) and N.J.S.A. 40A:11-23.2, with their Bid.

Simultaneously with the submission of bids, the corporation or partnership so bidding will furnish a statement setting forth the names and addresses of all stockholders in the corporation or partnership who own ten percent (10%) or greater therein pursuant to Chapter 33, P.L. 1977. Bids will be REJECTED if they do not contain this disclosure statement.

Bidders are notified that they must pay workmen the prevailing wage rate as determined by the New Jersey Department of Labor and Industry for the project, pursuant to the "New Jersey Prevailing Wage Act" - Chapter 150 of the Laws of 1963.

If awarded a contract, your company/firm shall be required to comply with the requirements of N.J.S.A. 10:5-31 et seq. and N.J.A.C. 17:27.

The right is hereby reserved to reject any and all bids or any part thereof or to waive any minor informalities or irregularities and to accept any bid or bids if deemed in the best interest of the Township of Maplewood to do so.
