Over the past few weeks, we have all become increasingly aware of the novel coronavirus, or COVID-19. This certainly is an unprecedented time for all of us. As your trusted health partner, we stand together with our communities and want to assure you that your safety and wellbeing is always our most important priority.

Our entire health system, including all of our hospitals, outpatient centers and medical group practices, have been working closely with guidance from the New Jersey Department of Health, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and regional and local health departments to address this serious public health issue. We have all of the appropriate protocols in place to safely and reliably triage and care for patients affected by COVID-19. Our hospitals and health facilities are fully staffed with highly trained physicians, nurses and clinical staff to manage suspected and confirmed cases, while continuing to serve patients who have other medical needs.

As the situation evolves, we are frequently evaluating all of our processes, and have implemented the following changes:

Sign Up for SOMA Newsletter
Our newsletter delivers the local news that you can trust.

  • We have temporarily changed our visitor policy and are not permitting visitors to any of our RWJBarnabas Health hospitals and health care facilities, including Behavioral Health and outpatient facilities. Limited exceptions and extenuating circumstances are posted on our website.
  • All approved visitors and patients who have a scheduled appointment or procedure will undergo screening upon entry to protect the health of our patients and staff.
  • We have reduced the cost for our RWJBH TeleMed service for virtual visits to encourage you to consult online with one of our physicians from home instead of taking a trip to the doctor's office. You can download the TeleMed app to your smart device and be seen quickly. Please use the code RWJBH15 in the payment section to receive the reduced rate of $15 per visit.

We are also continually updating our website to include the most up-to-date information about COVID-19. Additionally, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the New Jersey Department of Health are credible resources.
