SOUTH ORANGE, NJ — For South Orange residents, spring cleanup for yard debris runs now through May 13. There will be no additional pickups after May 13. Follow the guidelines below from South Orange Public Works to avoid any violations of the Municipal Housing Code.

Branches: Four inches or smaller in diameter may be placed curbside. Smaller branches or twigs can be bundled with twine to keep them from scattering.

Roots and stumps are not permitted.

Leaves, yard clippings, and garden rakings must be placed in brown biodegradable bags curbside. 

You cannot rake leaves into the street at this time of year. 

Grass Clippings: The Department of Public Works does not accept grass clippings under any circumstances. You may contact your disposal company to arrange a pickup. They are a private company and any associated fees are not monitored by the Township.

FYI: South Orange sewer payments and property taxes may be paid online. The grace period for sewer payments has been extended to May 1.
