UNION, NJ – Union firefighters responded to a car vs. house accident Saturday night at about 8:30 p.m. at the corner of Marshall and Delaware Avenues.
According to Union Fire Chief Mike Scanio, witnesses said the incident began in the Galloping Hill Caterers parking lot. The car went through the bushes surrounding the property, jumped the curb across Marshall Avenue and into the home.
Scanio said when firefighters arrived there were four occupants out of the vehicle. Two were transported to the hospital for what was described by EMS personnel as minor injuries.
Union Fire Department's Special Operations Team evaluated the structure, which was found to have minor structural damage. Scanio said a few small braces were built and the outside of the home was secured with plywood.
