Attempted Burglary- Arrest

On Monday August 26th at approximately 3:15pm homeowner/victim heard noise coming from outside of his house on South Kingman Road.  When the victim exited his residence he observed an individual on the roof attempting to enter his house.  He began to scream for help and suspect fled on foot.  A description of the suspect was broadcasted to South Orange Officers and suspect was located on Varsity Road.  Victim made a positive identification of the suspect and he was placed under arrest. Cedric Tate, a 35 year old Newark resident, was charged with Attempted Burglary and transported to the Essex County Jail.

Package Theft- Update

On August 8, 2019 the individual depicted in the photo walked up to a residence on Sinclair Terrace and stole a package from the front porch.  Please contact D/Lt. Brian McGuire at the South Orange Police Department at (973) 763-3000 ext.7788 or email bmcguire@southorange.org if you recognize this individual.  

All charges are merely accusations. Each suspect is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
