MAPLEWOOD, NJ – Late this afternoon Maplewood Fire and Police Departments responded to a house fire at 82 Revere Avenue, the property actually being just over the town line in Union. Thus the operation became under the command of the Union Fire Department.

Both Maplewood Firefighters and Union Firefighters fought the blaze together using manpower and equipment from both towns. There was police support for traffic and pedestrian control from both Maplewood and Union, and multiple EMT’s and ambulances from Union and other towns. When the firefighters are working together with units from other towns they operate as one. each attending to whatever task they've been assigned during the operation. 

According to one Union police officer on scene the homeowner stated that fortunately the house was unoccupied at the time of the fire. The house was destroyed by the fire.  The eaves were still smoldering shortly before 7 pm and the condition as being addressed.
