MAPLEWOOD, NJ — Police Blotter
November 1, 2019; Bicycle Theft; During an undetermined time frame, two bicycles were stolen from an unsecured garage on Burnett Terr.
November 2, 2019; Shoplifting; At approximately 10:30 p.m. a male took several items and fled the 7-11 on Irvington Ave without paying for them.
November 3, 2019; Motor Vehicle Thefts; During the overnight hours, two vehicles were stolen from a residence on Girard Pl. It is believed that the keys to both vehicles were in one of the unsecured vehicles. One vehicle was recovered in Hillside and one was recovered in Newark.
November 4, 2019; Burglary; At approximately 3:30 a.m., a residence on Colgate Rd. was entered. A male fled the scene without any proceeds once activating the alarm system.
November 4, 2019; Shoplifting; At approximately 9:15 a.m., a female took several makeup products and exited the Walgreens on Springfield Ave without paying for them.
November 4, 2019; Shoplifting; At approximately 7:30 p.m., a male exited the Walgreens after concealing multiple razors on his person. Officers located the male identified as Quawee Johnson, age 31, of Newark. He was taken into custody and charged with shoplifting.
November 4, 2019; During the overnight hours an unsecured vehicle on Milton St. was entered. A jacket and small amount of cash was taken from the vehicle.
November 5, 2019; Theft from Auto; At approximately 11:15 a.m., a male was observed removing an iPad from an unsecured vehicle on Princeton St. A 17-year-old male was located a short distance away in possession of the stolen property. He was taken into custody and charged with receiving stolen property.
November 6, 2019; Bicycle Theft; At approximately 3:45 p.m., two male juveniles removed a bicycle from the rear of a home on Boyden Parkway South.
Note: The charges against the defendants are merely accusations, and the defendants are considered innocent until proven convicted of the charges.
