SOUTH ORANGE, NJ — Shortly before 7:30 a.m. this morning, April 24, a single vehicle accident occurred just west of Center Street on South Orange Avenue.

South Orange Police and Fire Department, as well as the South Orange Rescue Squad, responded to the scene. The initial report indicated multiple injuries; a total of three ambulances responded in addition to two fire engines and the ladder truck. Multiple police officers were on scene as well.

Some injured were entrapped in the vehicle, and the firefighters used their tools and training to complete the extraction. Additionally, a pipe from the building that houses some Seton Hall offices on the north side of South Orange Avenue was hit, which the firefighters were unable to identify as gas or water. Therefore, a request was made for both PSE&G Gas and NJ American Water to respond to the scene.
