MAPLEWOOD, NJ — Somewhere in a 4 a.m. hour today a fire started in a home on Boyden Avenue. The Maplewood Fire Department responded, and declared it a second alarm fire.

The fire fighters received mutual aid from South Orange, Irvington, Orange and Millburn and the South Orange Rescue Squad. Also on scene was East Orange, Union, and West Orange, said an MFD spokesperson.

The MFD determined the fire to be accidental in nature. No injuries were reported. The occupants were being assisted by the Red Cross. By 5:49 a.m. the fire was reported as under control.
