MAPLEWOOD, NJ - The Maplewood Police Department reports on shoplifting and other crime incidents that occurred in town over the past couple of weeks.
July 2, 2019; Burglary; At approximately 11:30 a.m., a male was observed inside of a home on Irvington Avenue by a resident. Officers responded and checked the area. Two males were stopped and a juvenile was arrested for receiving stolen property after it was determined he was in possession of a laptop taken from the home.
July 2, 2019; Shoplifting; At approximately 1:40 p.m., officers responded to Quick Chek on a report of a male taking a case of skittles and leaving the store without paying. Officers checked the area, but were unable to locate the male suspect.
July 2, 2019; Theft from Auto; During the overnight hours an unsecured vehicle parked on Revere Avenue was entered and a purse was stolen.
July 3, 2019; Theft from Auto; At approximately 1:20 a.m. two unsecured vehicles parked on Meadowbrook Place were entered and headphones were stolen.
July 3, 2019; Shoplifting; At approximately 6:10 p.m. a male in the 7-11 on Irvington Ave concealed several Redbulls and fled the store without paying.
July 4, 2019; Bicycle Theft; At approximately 10 p.m., a group of males took a bicycle from Memorial Park and walked away with it.
July 5, 2019; Bicycle Thefts; During the afternoon hours several bicycles were reported stolen. Five juveniles were stopped by patrols and found to be in possession of the bicycles.
July 6, 2019; Theft from Auto; During the overnight hours an unsecured vehicle on South 4th Street was entered and a wallet was stolen.
