South Orange, NJ —

On November 28, 2019 officers responded to Irvington Avenue on a report of a shoplifter at Morgan's Liquors.  Suspect was located and was placed under arrest for shoplifting a bottle of beer and a bottle of vodka. Mr. Nauhun Delgado, a 31-year-old Bloomfield resident, was charged with shoplifting and hindering and released on a summons pending his court date.   

On November 30, 2019 a Summit Avenue resident reported someone entered their vehicle, which was parked in their driveway, and stole loose change.  Detective Bureau investigating...  Please remember to lock your car doors at night, thanks.

A Riggs Place resident reported that her cleaning lady had stolen an engagement ring from her residence sometime between August 25 and October 17. When the victim confronted her she returned the ring to her.  The victim took an inventory of her jewelry and noticed several other pieces missing.  The cleaning lady, Barbara Clark, 59, of Roselle, agreed to come to the South Orange Police Department to speak with a detective.  She confessed to stealing the engagement ring as well as the other pieces of jewelry belonging to the victim. Clark ultimately returned all the jewelry. She was charged with theft and released on a summons.  

South Orange Police were dispatched to the area of Valley Street and 2nd Street on a report of a disturbance.  Numerous subjects were stopped. One of the subjects, Daezhon Peterson an 18-year-old Maplewood resident was arrested for providing false information and it was also discovered Mr. Peterson had an active warrant from the Essex County Sheriff's Department. Peterson was placed under arrest and transported to the Essex County Jail. 

On December 4 during the early morning hours a Tillou Road resident reported her 2019 Audi Q7 stolen from her driveway.  Detective Bureau is currently investigating this theft.  PLEASE- remember to lock your cars and don't leave your key fob inside your vehicle.
