SOUTH ORANGE, NJ - A suspicious death is being investigated on Hixon Place in South Orange, according to Thomas Fennelly, Chief Assistant Prosecutor of the Essex County Prosecutor's Office.
"We can't really tell you anything official yet," said Fennelly to TAPinto SOMA at about 5:15 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 11, but he did confirm there is an unidentified body, being investigated as a suspicious death.
"There is no cause for alarm in the neighborhood," stressed Fennelly.
Fennelly said more information will be available, and that the body has not yet been identified and that the family of the deceased has not been notified as of Jan. 11.
On Tues., Jan. 16, Fennelly stated by phone that it is still an active investigation and that the cause of death has not yet been determined from an autopsy. Fennelly stated that the death still appears to be an isolated case.
