MAPLEWOOD, NJ -- The Columbia boys basketball team opened its season with a 52-47 victory over Montclair Thursday night.
Andrew Rowley scored 13 points and came down with six rebounds for the Cougars, who led, 18-17, at halftime. Jalen Robinson handed out a team-high five assists to go with eight points.
Josiah Lawful finished with nine points and a team-leading 10 rebounds and Chris Darcelin had nine points, seven rebounds and three assists in the victory. Columbia will play Union on the road Saturday at noon.
