MAPLEWOOD, NJ -- William Schabacker, a senior at Columbia High School, has been named to the Super Essex Conference American Division Boys Cross-Country first team. Kirah Tianga of Columbia was selected for the Girls Cross-Country first team.

Schabacker's best time this season has been a 16:46.1 in the 5,000-meter race in the Section 2 NJSIAA meet last week. He also broke 17 minutes with a time of 16:59.3 when he finished eighth in the SEC Championship meet in October.

Javier Casella of Columbia was named to the SEC American Division second team, and Aaron Glassman was selected to the third team.

Tianga helped the Columbia girls X-C team to a second-place team finish at the Essex County Championships earlier this month. Her best time this season was 19:46.8 in the Section 2 NJSIAA meet.

Darcy Perlman and Kate Beemer of Columbia were both named to the SEC American Division girls' second team, and Sasha Rojer of Columbia was selected to the third team.
