NEWARK, NJ -- Columbia opened a seven-point halftime lead and went on to a 42-35 girls basketball victory over Payne Tech on Tuesday.

Maia Little connected for 13 points for the Cougars (10-5), who outscored Payne Tech, 14-6, in the second quarter to take a 21-14 halftime lead.

Corteney Provilon-Louis finished with eight points and Kaijhe Hall seven points for Columbia, which outscored Payne Tech, 12-8, in the fourth quarter.
