Effective Communication Strategies When Caring for Those with Alzheimer’s & Dementia at the Somers Library
Friday, May 15, 1:00—2:30 pm
Individuals living with dementia often experience changes in behavior that can be confusing to friends and family. For caregivers, learning to decode messages through attitude, tone of voice, facial expressions and body language can help both parties to connect and communicate in meaningful ways. This program will help explain the communication changes that take place in a person with dementia and identify strategies to connect and communicate at each stage of the disease. Registration is required; please register on our online events calendar here or call the library at 232-5717.
Presented by the Alzheimer's Association Hudson Valley Chapter.
Our programs are funded by The Friends of the Library - thanks for your support!
