SOMERS, N.Y. - The Somers girls basketball team raced out to a huge lead and cruised past visiting Yonkers Montessori Academy, 73-13, on Friday, Dec. 7.

Dani DiCintio made four threes and scored 16 of her game-high 22 points in the first quarter. The Tuskers built a 28-5 lead after one. DiCintio also had 6 assists.

Taylor Penzo and Lily Carino (10 rebounds, 4 steals) scored 10 and 9 points, respectively. Hannah Angelini (8 rebounds), Isabella Rukaj and Jordan May notched six points apiece.

Somers (1-1) was scheduled to host Beacon on Dec. 11. It then welcomed Mahopac at 6:15 p.m. Dec. 13 for the opening round of the Michael DePaoli Memorial Tournament.
