ORANGEBURG, N.Y. - Fifth-seeded Somers jumped out to a six goal halftime lead and kept its foot on the gas pedal in the third quarter as it cruised to a 16-4 win over fourth-seeded Tappan Zee in the Section 1 Class B quarterfinals on Saturday.

Vincent Cartelli netted seven goals and had two assists while Graham Roediger tallied five goals and three assists to lead the Tuskers, who went on a 12-0 run and built a 15-2 lead after three quarters.

Connor Gill (2G, 3A) and Andrew Lowman (2G, 1A) also were a part of the offensive showcase. Tyler Carr made 12 saves.

Somers will travel to top-seeded and defending champion Yorktown for the semifinals on Tuesday.
