Somers Residents Scrap E-Waste

SOMERS, N.Y. - On Saturday, April 16, Somers residents celebrated Earth Day by dropping off their old electronic devices at Somers Intermediate School.

For a $5 fee, which was donated to the Somers PTA, residents were able to rid their homes, offices or garages of e-waste and scrap metal. With about 450 cars stopping by throughout the day, the PTA was able to raise $2,200 in donations.

The event was organized by the Somers PTA Council Sustainability Committee sponsored by City Carting and Recycling.
