Teen Charged with Growing Marijuana in Somers Home

SOMERS, N.Y. - A 17-year-old was arrested earlier this week after New York State Police say they discovered a marijuana growing operation in his Somers home.

Police suspected the teen's operation and exercised a search warrant on Wednesday, Sept. 28, recovering two marijuana plants, drug paraphernalia and a small quantity of marijuana, according to police.

A 17-year-old, whose name was not released, was arrested and charged with unlawfully growing cannabis, a misdemeanor, and unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation. He was also charged with criminal trespass, a misdemeanor, in connection with an unrelated burglary investigation from June 2016.
