SOMERS, N.Y. - The town has decided to postpone the date of the vote on the creation of Sewer District 2 until early 2020.

Supervisor Rick Morrissey told the Somers Record that “the idea is to provide ample time for review and comment.”

The vote was scheduled for Dec. 11.

“After listening carefully to public feedback from Lake Lincolndale and Lake Shenorock property owners on the creation of Sewer District 2, we have consulted with the Comptroller’s Office to find the most equitable way of assessing sewer fees. Based on the Comptroller’s recommendations, we will be revising the Map, Plan and Report (MP&R), and addressing some of the other concerns that have been communicated to the town,” Morrissey said.

Critics of the project say they have found many errors in the MP&R, including properties that were left off the map.

The town compiled answers to a list of frequently asked questions, which is available at somersny.com. Additionally, hard copies are available at Town Hall and will be mailed to property owners in both Shenorock and Lincolndale.

An informational meeting is scheduled for 7:30-9:30 p.m. Dec. 3 at the Lake Lincolndale Property Owners’ Association Clubhouse, 11 Lakeshore Drive North.
