A backward glance…

Two weeks ago, I received an email, “The Back Nine.” My research indicated it was authored by Papa Mike on August 6, 2013, and illustrates just how time moves ahead, and before we know it, we’ve entered the “back nine” of our lives: “How did I get here so fast?  Where did the years go and where did my youth go.”  It hit home as I received it ...

An open house open house

Last Saturday the Somers Volunteer Fire Department held an open house, where they invited residents to come over and take a closer look at what they do and how they do it. Like a Kid in a Candy Store

When my kids were little, I think the only person who got more excited about Halloween than them, was me.  The only issue was that Halloween was supposed to be for kids, not for their candy-lovin’ mamas who supposedly had the maturity of a more sophisticated palate that was better suited to dark chocolate truffles and lemon squares.  But the truth of the matter is, my palate never ...

Michael Douglas

October 16, 2018

Oh, alright.  I admit it, my husband looks like Michael Douglas!

This revelation did not come easy, but come it finally did.

It all began in the 1990’s when my husband, Ken, came home and told me he was at the mall when he noticed a woman following him around.  He said she finally approached him and asked him for his autograph.

“Excuse me?” he said.
