Members of the community have raised more than $7,500 to buy 1,800 Shakes from King Kone to donate to local hospital and grocery store staff.

A $5 Donation at Venmo @shakesfortheshakers or GoFundMe buys someone a shake.

“It’s really an effort to bring a smile and say thank you to those working in essential businesses. Starting yesterday, we are delivering 100 milkshakes a day sent with gratitude from our community to local hospitals and grocery stores,” said Ryan Parker, a Life Scout with Vista Troop 101 Boy Scouts. “We will also be helping our own local King Kone by purchasing the shakes from them.”

The group made their first deliveries on April 21 to DeCiccos in Somers, DeCiccos in Katonah, and Greenway in Cross River.

"Thank you to the community for their very generous donations and kindness," said The Rice, O'Reilly, Hopkins, and Parker Families. "The recipients have been very appreciative and we will keep going as long as we have the funds!"

They plan on making more deliveries next week to  Westchester Medical Center Wednesday 4/22, on 4/23 to Norwalk Hospital and then on 4/29 delivering to Northwell (Northern Westchester).

Anyone who would like to contribute to the effort can do so at Venmo @shakesfortheshakers.
