What are the team’s goals for the rest of this season?

We take one game at a time and we know what we are capable of doing. As long as we come out strong every game and have the positive mindset for each game and one another, we will put ourselves in a good position come sectional time.

As a senior on the team, how much do you value being a leader?

I value being a leader because I’ve seen how much a leader can impact a team. As a senior I hope to influence other players to be a leader as well.

Who has been your biggest role model over the years and what have you learned from them?

My three older sisters have been my role models because they all played soccer either just high school or in college as well. I’ve learned so much from watching them play and also from them willing to take the time to help train me. They all were very good at keeping a good mindset on the field at all times and that’s something big that I have learned as I got older.

Tell us one thing about yourself that not a lot of people know?

I have moved five times and this is my second time living in Somers. I’m so happy I was able to come back for all four years of high school because there’s no other team I would want to play for.

What appealed to you about Iona and why did you decide to continue your soccer career there?

I picked Iona because I wanted to be close to my family so that they would be able to come watch me play whenever they could. It is also going to be nice being close to home!

What is your favorite music to listen to warming up for a game?

I listen to a lot of pop music because it always gets me in the right mindset and focused before my games.

If you could have one superpower, what would it be and why?

Flying because then you can get to places quicker and not have to be stuck in traffic for hours.

If you could pick one place to visit on vacation that you’ve never been to, where would you go and why?

I would go to Australia because I want to visit the Australia Zoo and also explore all of the outdoor aspects of it.

What is your favorite food to eat before or after a game?

Before a game I would usually eat a sandwich from Mobil (Route 100 Market). After my game I love to eat mac and cheese.

Best place to eat in Somers?

Bobo’s Cafe.

Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat or Instagram? Why?

Instagram because it allows you to follow celebrities and your friends, and you get to see what people do on the daily.

For a young athlete growing up in Somers, what would you tell them about the experience of being part of the soccer program and why should they go out for the team?

Being on varsity soccer since being a freshman has honestly been the best experience because not only do you get to make friends from all different grades but you also form a second family. It’s the best time and it’s always fun, especially knowing that you played with a lot of D1 athletes. I’m so happy I was able to be back for high school soccer and wouldn’t have wanted to play for any other team.
